Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of mcservershare.com and related features (the "Service"), operated by MCServerShare ("we," "us"). By using the Service or creating an account, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The Service

MCServerShare is a free directory where people can discover Minecraft servers and, with a free account, list their own. It includes listings, voting and rankings, server statistics, comments, a random-server finder, a weekly featured-spot auction, embeddable badges and a developer API.

MCServerShare is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with Mojang Studios, Microsoft, or any server listed on the Service. "Minecraft" is a trademark of Mojang Studios.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

  • You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required where you live) to create an account.
  • Give accurate information and keep your login details secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
  • Tell us promptly at support@mcservershare.com if you think your account has been used without permission.
  • Free accounts may list one server at a time.

3. Server Listings

When you list a server, you confirm that:

  • you own it or are authorized to list it, and the information you provide is accurate and kept up to date;
  • the server is reachable by players at the address you give;
  • the server and its content comply with Minecraft's End User License Agreement and applicable law.

The following are not allowed on the Service:

  • servers that are illegal, scams, or that distribute malware or phishing links;
  • servers that promote harassment, hate, or discrimination, or that target or endanger children;
  • sexually explicit content, and servers that facilitate illegal activity;
  • misleading listings, impersonation of another server or person, and duplicate or spam listings.

We may edit, hide or remove any listing, and suspend accounts, that break these Terms or harm users.

4. Your Content & License

You keep ownership of what you submit (listing text, banners, comments and so on, "User Content"). You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, resize and distribute it as part of operating and promoting the Service (for example in lists, search, share cards and badges). You promise you have the right to submit it and that it does not infringe anyone's rights.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • manipulate votes, rankings or statistics (including bots, vote farms, VPN or proxy abuse, or paid votes);
  • scrape or copy the Service at scale, except through the official API within its limits;
  • bypass rate limits, security measures, or access controls, or probe for vulnerabilities;
  • post spam, harassment, hate, threats, or illegal or misleading content;
  • file false reports or otherwise abuse moderation tools;
  • interfere with or overload the Service, or use it to harm others.

6. Voting, Rankings & Statistics

Each person may vote once per server per 24 hours. Rankings are based on recent votes and, for featured spots, the rules in section 9. We may remove votes we believe are fraudulent and may penalize listings or accounts involved. Statistics such as player counts, uptime, history and rankings are estimates that can be delayed or wrong, and should not be relied on for important decisions.

If a listing enables vote rewards through Votifier, we relay a vote notification to that server on a best-effort basis. We do not control whether the server receives it or grants a reward. Rewards must come only from the server itself, in-game.

7. Comments, Reports & Moderation

Comments, replies, reviews and profile details (bio, links, Discord username) should be honest, respectful and your own — no spam, harassment, fake or incentivised reviews, or links to harmful sites. Server owners may not review their own server. Anyone logged in can report a listing, comment, review or profile. We review reports and may remove content, issue warnings, or suspend or ban accounts; a ban blocks login and hides the profile, and may be reversed. We are not obliged to monitor content and are not responsible for what users or listed servers post.

8. Account & Data Deletion

You can delete your listing and comments at any time, and delete your whole account from the My server page. Deleting your account permanently removes your login, profile, listing, comments, reviews, favorites, bids and API key.

9. Featured Spots & Bids

  • Each week has three featured spots. During the week before, owners bid a weekly amount of at least $10 (whole dollars). Bids can be raised but not lowered or withdrawn.
  • When the week begins (Monday 00:00 UTC) the highest weekly bids take the open spots in order; ties go to the earlier bid. A two-week booking costs double the weekly bid plus 10%, and keeps the same spot for both weeks.
  • Launch preview: while payments are not yet open, bids are free and non-binding and no money is collected. Winning bids still receive the spot. When payments open, prices, taxes, refund and cancellation terms will be shown before you pay and added to these Terms, and you will not be charged for a bid placed during the preview.
  • A featured spot is promotional placement only. It does not mean we endorse a server, and it does not guarantee any number of views, visits or players.
  • We may refuse, cancel or remove bids or spots that are fraudulent, abusive, or for listings that break these Terms. Spots cannot be transferred or resold.

10. Developer API & Embeds

  • API keys are available to account holders whose listing has been live for at least 30 days, and may be limited or revoked at any time. A key is personal: do not share, sell or publish it, and call the API from your own server, not from public browser code.
  • Stay within the published rate limits. Do not use the API to copy our data for a competing directory.
  • A link back to MCServerShare is appreciated when you build something with the API.
  • You may embed our badges to show your own server. Please leave them unmodified so they keep linking back to your listing.

11. Intellectual Property

The Service, its design, code, text and branding belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. You may not copy, modify or redistribute them without permission, except as these Terms allow. All other trademarks belong to their owners.

12. Third-Party Servers & Links

Listed servers and the websites they link to are operated by independent third parties. We do not operate, control or vouch for them, and connecting to or interacting with them is at your own risk. We are not responsible for anything that happens there, including data loss, purchases, bans or disputes. Links that owners submit are marked as user-generated and are not endorsements.

13. Copyright (DMCA)

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, email support@mcservershare.com with a description of the work, where it appears on the Service, and your contact details, and we will investigate. We may remove content and terminate repeat infringers.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access, or remove content, if you break these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will do so.

15. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that listings, statistics or rankings are accurate, safe or current.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MCServerShare and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service or any third-party server. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the three months before the claim, or $50 if you paid nothing.

17. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims and costs arising from content you submit, your listing, or your breach of these Terms or the law.

18. Changes to the Service and These Terms

We may change, suspend or discontinue features at any time. We may update these Terms from time to time and will post the new version with an updated date. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept them.

19. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States applicable to agreements made and performed within it, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. We encourage you to contact us first to resolve any dispute informally.

20. General

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. We may assign these Terms; you may not assign yours without our consent.
